There aren’t a lot of rules when it comes to art, but there are some. Northwest artist Boni Belden-Doney is a lifelong painter who has bucked a few rules to create stunning watercolors of people, pets and nature. She desires to capture something extra in her paintings and it’s taken a lifetime to get there. She has also bucked a few rules in life. Though at times “crashing and burning” when trying to fly by the seat of her pants, she has survived to tell her story to help others. Butt Wings was created after an encounter with Jesus when she came to the end of her own “control,” with no direction for her life. Now she wants to encourage others to give up their Butt Wings and take the hand of the Most High God to truly soar with joyful direction. Born in Denver and transplanted to the Northwest, Boni Belden-Doney has carved out a niche as a popular painter of people, landscapes and pets. She has experienced many changes in her artwork over the years, and many lessons in life that she incorporates into both her writing and her artwork. She believes that we are all blessed with various gifts and talents to be used to bless others and the One who gave them. She has traveled from very dark places in her life, into His light, and now It is her life pursuit to infuse joy and light into all she does.
