For years I believed as many people believe today, that the will of God, as it pertained to me, meant what occupation God wanted me to pursue. If I could determine what God wanted me to be, a professor, a plumber, a politician, or even a preacher, I would know God’s will for my life. I discovered later that the Bible teaches that occupation is only a small portion of the will of God for my life. His will is much, much bigger than that! With the Bible as our Source and Standard of truth, I want to discover what “God’s will for my life” actually means. To get to that end, we will consider six questions: (1) Who Is God and Why Does It Matter? (2) How Does God Reveal His Will to Us? (3) What Keeps Us from Doing God’s Will? (4) What Is the Most Difficult Part of Doing God’s Will? (5) What Do We Know for Sure to be The Will of God? (6) What Do I Do with All This Information? So, grab a hot cup of coffee, find a quiet place to read, and ask the Holy Spirit to be your Teacher as we discover together what the Bible teaches about God’s Will & Your Life. Jim Garnett The Author
