Carlos Castaneda and the Crack Between Worlds – Glimpses of Ānahuacah Philosophy in the 21st Century was (studied, experimented with, developed, researched, and collected since 1989, and) written in the Year of Grace 2011 and published in 2012 (the year that marks the beginning of the 6th Sun), with a second edition in 2026. My hypotheses, with which I work and which I develop in this work, are: 1 – Nagualism is a real, effective, and original practice, created through the collaboration of various American cultures; it aims at quality of life, the creation of a superior life, the liberation from low elements of the human ethos, and the evolution of the individual and the species (what Nietzsche called the superman). 2 – Nagualism is one of the earliest and strongest Pan-American phenomena. It was practiced throughout the entire continent that would one day be called America, from Alaska to Tierra del Fuego, under various names, in different languages, and with many specific techniques attached. But it was a continental discovery that the Mongoloid peoples made here over millennia of adaptation. It is present in Canadian witches, in the numerous Native American nations that lived in what are now the United States and Mexico, in the Maya, the Inca, and among the thousands of peoples of South America. 3 – Carlos Castaneda made an anthropological discovery of gigantic importance; he found the tip of an iceberg. He himself gave several corroborating indications, and, alongside him, after him, independently of him, as we will demonstrate, this research of rescue and re-actualization continues, with ever-increasing potentiation, towards a specific evolution, which was precisely the proposal and prophecy of these pre-Columbian peoples: in 2012 we will enter the 6th sun, and the rediscovery of nagualism plays a fundamental role in this transformation. 4 – Today we know, including through genetic evidence, that peoples from the East came to live in America, through various routes, the Bering Strait, the Aleutian Islands and even ships. They brought the embryo of what would be nagualism, in an original shamanic vision, different from the Euro-African one, and which in Asia developed into several strong and ancient traditions, such as Hinduism, Taoism and Zen. This germ here gave rise to many fruits of knowledge, but most of them are linked by the nagualist perspective (even with another name, depending on the language and culture of the people). 5 – Nagualism is not a religion, it never was, and it loses its strength and characteristics when treated as such. On the other hand, it is a living and active heritage of the American peoples, one of the most beautiful gifts we give to the human world, and we can all, each and every one of us, benefit from it in a way that is as effective and affective as the peoples who lived here hundreds and thousands of years ago did. Consequently, my objective in this book is: 1 – To give my interpretation of nagualism. 2 – To demonstrate that it has its roots in pre-Columbian America, in a continental intercommunication that has lasted for millennia, which can serve as support for a new integration of our American peoples. 3 – To show that nagualism has current and future developments. 4 – To make connections between Toltecism and other traditions. 5 – To invite the reader to learn. But it is a fractal book, for sure, within my literary and philosophical proposal, mirroring and emitting to all the texts I have ever written, from the simplest to the most sophisticated, from children's letters to treatises on Afro-Brazilian multiconsciousness; and this aspect of fractal geometry that it embodies means that the two visions, the five objectives and the nine paths are present on every page; even when we are in a section of the book that nominally bears one of the aforementioned titles.
